I have a 2021 Ford Explorer XLT RWD 2.3L and I am having problems receiving heat to the 2nd and 3rd row of my explorer. The liquid lines running to the core are cold instead of hot when I have the temperature set to the hottest setting.

I'm trying to figure out the next step. I know my problem will be under the hood somewhere but I don't know how what I'm looking for.

Can you explain a little more? Where exactly are you expecting heat to come out and that it isnt?

Heat is expected to come out of the 2nd and 3rd row HVAC. It's almost like there is an electronic valve that needs to be changed out that may be faulty. I just don't know where to look

Was it ever working?

Everything was set to full heat and even after driving the car for about 10-30 minutes there is no heat at all. It just feels like cold air being supplied. I feel like there is a change over valve that needs to swap. Almost like a reserving valve for a heatpump on an HVAC system.

I was not able to find a diagram of the actuators for the 6th gen. There is one for the 5th gen but it doesn't show anything for directing airflow to the roof vents. When you said "no heat at all", were you referring to the main HVAC system? As per the linked article, the roof vents do not provide heat. Since I'm the only occupant in my vehicles, I've never checked to see what the roof vents do.

The back vents have its own blower assembly and heat/cooling coil. Blower runs great. I wonder if the actuator isn't getting voltage from the control panel.

Sounds like the cooling system is air bound.

Heat comes out the floor in the 2nd and 3rd row, the vents in the ceiling ar for the AC. So that is why I asked where exactly do they expect the heat to come out.

Well if thats the case, then the cooling never stops blowing when it is on full heat.

This is all I found in your Owner's Manual about the overhead air vents.

As far as I know, the overhead air vents are for cooling only. The floor vents are for heat as blwnsmoke stated.
