Not sure what trans will work?

Have a 2000 5.0 awd explorer and I believe its an 4r70w from all the research ive done but, does not matter which one? Ive seen them for a 4.6 as well, obviously its a common trans. Is there a certain one I should be looking for?

They are a little different. The bell housings are slightly different on the 5.0 and 4.6 trannies. The starter location is offset on one of them, can't remember which one though. There is a thread on here that has a picture of them side by side, I'll see if I can find it and post the link.

That would be awesome. Been searching for almost two hours now. So far though it seems I am going to need a trans from a 98-00. Because of the Awd electrical.
