Could You weigh - in on this .... Will I a have to replace this Transmission & TC ?

Goodmorning,

Hope everyone had a Good Christmas Holiday,

I Recently replaced my Motor and Transmission (incl: Torque Converter)

The Truck is Running Great and the Transmission seems to be operating well until...

After about 5 minutes of driving (The 5 minutes is really consistent; menaing O/D Flash does not start flashing right away, but does after 5 minutes)

Once the O/D starts Flashing it seems the Transmission starts Shifting Hard especially going to 2nd gear.

What are the Detailed Troubleshooting steps to pin point this code?

Replaced T.C. Converter with a Reman from O'Reilly's .... new TC nuts tightned to Torque specs from Alldata

Also pulled the Starter off for the 2nd time to insure it was retracting away from the Flexplate and it looked visibly OK like it was fully retracting.

Thanks,

Likely a missed ground strap or connector that didn’t fully get seated. Was unit used or rebuilt? Did you notice if the sealing ring was installed or maybe damaged?

I got the Transmission from PTS Reman Transmissions so Rebuilt / Reman Transmission for $1400.00 roughly

"Likely a missed ground strap or connector that didn’t fully get seated."

Could you elaborate on what you mean in regards to Ground Strap or Connector didn't get Fully Seated ?

What exactly is your Pic showing ? Is that the Post/ Stem ( I'm sure that's not the Technical Name for it) coming out of Transmission from Bell Housing ?

I guess either way I have to Pull Transmission Again.

also still getting noise like the Starter is slightly hitting the FlexPlate.... but I pulled it off and put eyes on it and the Gears on Starter and Flex Plate looked fine... So maybe it's from what you are referring to above and that sealing ring isn't there or is damaged or maybe The TC is not fully seated in general.... We made sure it was Seated by Turning the TC and making sure it was pushed back as far as it would go

Also we Pre-Filled the TC with about 3-4 Quarts of Tranny Fluid.... is that Correct ?

What else can I check while its pulled ?

Thanks for Reply as well

Have you contacted the remanufactures for their support? When having that many connections disconnected while motor/transmission replacement some ground straps may have not gotten bolted back or on poor surface. Lot of times wires or harness will get crushed or cut also. The sealing ring I’m referencing will not cause a noise. Fluid in the converter is correct and not an issue. How are you retrieving the code? OEM software scanner or code reader? I would suggest to do some more diagnostics before pulling unit back out.
