O/D light blinking

I am sure I have seen this question before but, I need to ask again. What is wrong with my truck if the OD light is blinking on my dash. I have a 98 XLT 5.0. Thank you all in advance.

If it only happens once, don't worry about it.

Check the fluid level and condition. Otherwise it is most likely the torque converter slipping or the TPS failing. Beyond that, you're screwed

The O/D light flashing denotes a transmission trouble code within the computer. You should get the code read as soon as possible. A Ford dealership or a private shop with an OBD II scan tool should be able to read the codes for you. Once you get it, post here.

Thanks. New problem. OD light stopped blinking. Is this ok?? I just had my trans fluid changed 10k ago. Should I still get the trans checked?? Thanks again.

No need to get the trans looked at................yet. Get the codes read and then post it here.
