Hi guys, I am new here and this is my first post. My o2 sensor was not working correctly so I bought two new ones from rockauto. Put them in and still the same issue. P0135. Comes to find out that the wires on the pcm side of the connector are broken therefore throwing a code. I found this out while checking with multimeter the connector with the ignition on. When the wires moved there were sparks against the transmission housing.

I am glad that I know what the problem is however I cannot access the wire to fix the connections. I was trying to route the wiring back across the transmission to the driver side so I can pull it lower to repair it but it keeps getting snagged on things. I have limited room getting my arms into the correct area. Does anyone know of how to fix this. I can’t find another thread about this.
This is our only vehicle so the sooner the better. Thanks.

Nice. I just found all the wire jackets on my MAF cracked and exposed conductors today.

@PZaff
I pried the O2 sensor connector loose from the hole above the transmission, in order to bring the harness low enough to clip off the 4 wires entering the harness part of the connector, leaving pigtails usably long, maybe 6 inches or so, and run all new wires to feed that O2 sensor. To do this, I used Ford wiring diagrams. The "dealer way" would be to replace that entire harness which feeds the O2s, an expensive laborious job. imp

Thanks for the suggestions.
Update:
I thought about removing the transmission mount then lowering it a bit but I could get one bolt loose so I looked for a different option.
I actually asked the Holy Spirit what to do and I felt that I needed to try again to get the harness over the top of the transmission. I tried moving it towards the engine and using that space but it wouldn’t budge until I barely felt it getting snagging on a hose which runs on top of the tranny on the passenger side. I moved it over the line and reached from the driver side to pull the harness over.
Once I got it over I could see much better and I noticed that all four wires were connected but there was about an inch and a half of bare wire. The wires were all touching each other. (This was about 2.5 inches behind the connector). I removed the loom that the 4 wires were in and cut the exposed wires (one at a time) and spiced them with the red wire crimping things. It was kind of a chore to reach everything and see at the same time. I completed it including wrapping it with electrical tape by removing the front driver side tire and the little wheel well flap.
Getting it back to the passenger side was easier once I used a long screw driver to push it over the tranny by looking through the flap that I removed earlier.
I then cleared the pcm by disconnecting both red and black cables of the batter and connecting them together to drain the capacitor in the PCM. After putting the wheel back on I went for a test drive and allowed the pcm to relearn everything the truck runs great.
I hope this helps someone else who runs into a similar problem.
Blessings!
