$162.97

seems like a good deal with my budget being $200

I did a search and didn't feel like any post had covered scanners for explorers with this budget.

anyone have ANY scan tool information or suggestions?

Looks like a nice stand alone device, I opted for the www.autotap.com one as I can do a bit more having the laptop.

Many folks need OBD-1 and OBD-2. If all you ned is OBD-2, there are so darn many choices these days.... a lot of the better 2 only choices involve the use of laptops as the computing device. In fact FORD is going to laptops as their scantool of choice in the shop.

Thatsaid, there are a lot of great scanners out there that are stand alone. Alas fewer and fewer than can do OBD-2 and OBD-1.

What brand of laptop program gets high marks for OBDII?

Can the scan tool shown at the of the page show transmission codes? My o/d light blinks and I'm trying to find a tool to read the codes.

Yes it'll retrieve trans codes.
