I've only had this vehicle about 6 wks and never owned a 4wd before. I'm not sure what sounds I should be hearing or sensations I should be feeling on a truck with this kind of mileage. I'm a little hard of hearing so I tend to sense more than I really hear.

I'm getting a sound that seems to be coming from the front that reminds of a flat spot on a tire. In fact, that's what I thought it was at first since this vehicle sat for almost a year. After 1200 miles I would think any flat spots would be gone.

I've replaced the upper control arms/ball joints and checked everything else in the front end. Tires have been rebalanced and rotated; rotors resurfaced. I do know that the camber is out. I'm beginning to suspect a bad belt in a tire. I had an 2wd Expedition several years ago that acted similar until I replaced the tires.

There is no clicking or popping, the CV joints all seem good. U-joints on the drive shafts are tight.

The only other noise I have is in the rear end. It whines when I let off the throttle but goes away when I hit the gas. Checked the fluid and its at the right level and is still transparent. I suspect that the previous owner had it changed. Thought I might add friction modifier just to be on the safe side.

Any and all comments/suggestions would be appreciated.
