I just had a random thought. Is it possible to take the front suspension from a ranger with coilovers and place it on an Explorer? Like take the control arms and all. Has anyone tried this? It seems possible since the explorer is based on the ranger. I would rather save money than time since I would be doing the swap myself and thought this could be a nice option for anyone looking to have coilovers. Any thoughts?

Since Rangers didn't come with factory coil overs are you talking about aftermarket stuff added to a ranger?

No. Some rangers are factory equipped with coilovers. SO I was wondering if you could take those and put them on an explorer so it would be like if Ford originally had installed coilovers on the ex in the first place

colintrax is correct, Rangers never came with factory coilovers,,

the first ones were ttb with a coil and separate shock
the second ones were ifs with torsion bar, like Explorers were,,

if you know of one, lets see a picture of it ,,

Well, he did say it was a random thought at least. :D

well i would say if he found a coilover Ranger, buy it,, cause it's not stock,,
