Hmm get some new shocks maybe? That should help control the suspension bounce.

what kind of shocks would be good to get?
keeping in mind i still do use the explorer for normal day driving on the road.

RS 9000's are adjustable. When you want to get serious offroad, make them stiff, and when doing street driving, make them softer.

holy crap, i wanna get the RS9000's with the dual control
on-the-fly shock adjustment......holy crap

Actually, most people soften their 9000s on the trail to rattle less teeth ;)

Yeah I know, but in his situation stiffer would be better.

Be careful with that on the fly RS9000 system. I have a buddy who put it in a 4Runner and had nothing but problems with it. I have also heard numerous stories along the same lines. Anyone here ever use it and have a good experience?

Slow down!

are there problems with just RS9000's without the fly system?

No, just the control system

I have the 9000's with the in cab adjustment. I've had it on for around 4 or 5 years and didn't have any problems till this last year. The rear some how melted against the muffler and I do get a leak when in full flex but this is remedied by pumping them up to 5 and then then adjusting them down. I like mine!

I think the root of problem is clearance, not bad shocks. The suspension bounce is caused by hitting the diff on the ground, according to Retard's post. I recommend a diff guard to deflect the offending rocks and such, and bigger tires to put more distance between the diff and the ground.

I agree w/ RangerX; the only way to get pumkin clearence is with bigger tires... then you will need a suspension or body lift so that the tires will have enough travel inside the wheelwell and finally-all of this doesn't come cheaply.Retardriot, you mentioned that you bent the frame- how fast are you offroading?
You can always just drive the heck out of it until ya break something then do your mods:)

im getting 31x10.50s and a 2inch body lift, that should work.
and how much does it cost to repair the bent frame?
