alright, i really cant find any kind of light mount that i like. I dont want the huge roll bar, and i dont want one of those carr light mounts for about the cab. I want something to come from the bed to mount lights over the cab without all the flash of the roll bar. any suggestions?

well you are limited to your choices, but how about a rear glass & cab protector you could mount lights off of it. they mount on top of your truck bed and protect the back of your cab and glass from things in your truck bed.

I agree a headache rack would look good and would work from the explanation you gave on what you want.

lol that was the name i was looking for, but was having a blond moment! and for the life of me could not remember what the bloody name was ...

did you see the light mount carr makes that mounts where your front license plate is

I like this one, I'd get rid of the bungs on the corner though. It would be a custom job though, it's not a production item.

Go with the headache rack like above... Get rid of the big corners sticking up unless you plan to lean a boat against it or some pipe or something. Then they come in handy. Should be pretty reasonable to get bent up at a shop if you don't want to do it your self.

Dunno what type of off roading you're going to use them for but I think one of the problems with lights behind the cab is they dont illuminate whats directly in front of the vehicle. So if you're going 2mph on the trail, the lights behind the cab pretty much become useless when you're trying to manage an obstacle. And then there's the chances that a branch might damage the lights. For running through the desert, its not as bad but even then, the light bar is usually mounted pretty much in the windshield area.
