Thinking of ways to upgrade an OHV with a manual trans to an OHC. This seems to be a very tricky year since it was the only time the OHC was offered without the PATS system and was not offered with a manual transmission.
What are my options for getting a motor (I'm assuming 97-01 Explorer and possibly some Rangers), I would need an engine wiring harness for it as well. Is there a difference between manual and auto harnesses? And I would assume a 97 ECM programmed without the AT functionality.
The more I think about it, the more a mildly modded OHV would be much simpler.
