well now there i go solving one problem and creating another. got tired of amp noise so decided to run front components off of head unit. hooked up the first side and tested... sounds good. hook up the second side and the whole thig shuts down. guessing it is because i am sending the cables into a crossover that changes the ohms... any takers?

the crossover does not change ohms. I have infinity 6x8 comps running off of my head unit. Hmm my thoughts are that its not to do with the comps, might be with your speaker leads, or check your harness.

ALSO, could be that since u havent used those wires since u were running comps off of an amp, that there is a short in the wire. Try re-running your speaker leads.

IF THAT DOESNT WORK: Check your grounds, no ground = no signal.

Also, are your rear speakers working?

found it.... it has something to do with the mid in the driver door. not sure yet but am guessing bad wiring. out of time tonight but will tear apart tomorrow.
