I am going to be pulling my engine for some major updates: heads, cam, oil pump and pan gasket, rear main seal, etc.
I have the Ford rear main seal kit with the metal sleeve (and the tool to install it). But since the oil pan will be off anyway, am I better off using that or pulling the end cap and replacing the rear main seal that way?
I haven't seen a preference in any of the searches I've done - other than that if you're not pulling the engine, the Ford kit is the way to go.
thanks much
