I have a '94 Explorer Sport with 275,000 miles. I have some leaks around the valve cover gaskets. I was quoted several hundreds of $ to repair. Is an oil 'stop leak' additive such as Titan a reasonable alternative?
Thanks, Gregg <><

if the leak is big enough the only way to "fix" it is to replace parts. just my opinion but additives will only mask the symptoms, they don't usually fix anything.

As trashtruck said, using an additive will be a bandaid and won't actually fix the problem. Valve cover gaskets are some of the easiest to fix as far as leaks. You can do the job yourself with basic tools and time.

If you must use an additive, I'm having luck with AT-205 Reseal from Amazon.

Won't do a darn thing. The valve cover gaskets actually are not hard to do yourself if you have a few hours of time. You can rent the tools you need & the gaskets are less then $50.
