Couple more things:
Put down a big sheet of cardboard or newspapers to catch any spills.
Get some disposable gloves too it will make clean up so much easier.
Also take the used oil to a recycling station- your local service station may take it if your local gov doesnt have a place.
Filling the filter is a good idea.
If the washer on the filler bolt is old you may want a new one.
I torque my drain bolt to 20 ft/lbs- kind of **** I know but the pan is aluminum.
