I use Mobil 1 synthetic 5/30 with either a Bosch or Mobil 1 filter.
Ditto on the oil, but I always use the Motorcraft filters.

Yea I need to change my oil soon. I think I may go and by synthetic this time. maybe 5w30 because of the extreme cold here. I usually only use fram filters though.

if you were going non systhetic, which oil would you use?

I don't think that 100K is that much any more. Mine has 109K, I put in 10/30, I think that is what the owners book calls for. I used semi synthetic cause I didn't know what was in before. Ues any good Dino oil. Penz, Quaker State, what the dealer has should be good for your truck. Do you use it for heavy duty work?

ST calls for 5/30 at least on my oil filler cap on the motor. I use synthetic so I can go longer without changing the oil.

Havoline or Motorcraft. You could use Valvoline Max Life since it has over 100,000 miles, it is a syn blend and a very good oil* for the money.

* This is based on UOA's reported at www.bobistheoilguy.com and not marketing or what daddy used for 50 years. Ditto the recommendation for Havoline and Motorcraft.

I have 270,00 miles on my '01 Sport Trac and have used Valvoline oil since new. After 75,000 miles I bagan using one bottle of Slick 50 at every oil change (5,000 miles). My truck still sounds like new and I have never added oil between changes. I stopped even checking the oil between changes. This is no BS. I have the records to proove it.

i use royal purple 5w30 and the oil seems to work really good.

castrol syntec 5w30, napa gold filters

but the OP is looking for non synthetic (cheaper oil) maybe

I haven't used normal oil in years, and switch to synthetic for any vehicle I get....I did use castrol gtx, and valvoline before synthetic

check that link above bobistheoilguy for non synthetics
