I got this on my receipt after I got my oil changed last time, I was wondering if anyone could tell me how much these would cost to fix and exactly what they are, it'd be awesome...

Rear Main Seal Leak
Oil Pan Leak

Thanks for any help

btt, anyone?

I just had my trans rebuilt (Service level 2 rebuild). While the Trans. was out I had them put the rear main seal in it was a extra $70.00.. My whole bill was $1350.00 that was with a new converter also...

When I had my trany rebuilt the rear main seal cost about $80.

oil pan leak: i would assume the remedy for this would be to drop the oil pan off the engine and replace the gasket under there (depending on where its leaking from; is it leaking from the drain plug or from where the pan contacts the bottom of the block?) the gasket probably isnt a bank-breaker, but the labor probably could be - especially if ford does it.

Just playing dumb for a minute... Can the oil pan gasket be replaced while the engine is still in the car....?? Mine is leaking right at the front bearing. I hope its just the oil pan gasket and not the main bearing seal...

Are you sure its the rear seal?
I chased an oil leak that I thought was a rear seal problem and I was dead wrong.

I will tell you, what one of our fine members told me who I thank and which was true.

Oil maybe leaking from the rear of engine from the intake manifold which drips down the trans and is often mistaken for a leaking rear engine seal.

See if you can stick you hand back there and feel above where the bell housing meets the block between ?
"11:00- 1:00" and up an inch or so. You may have some puddle spots there too. The clips on the coil wires are sharp, watch out for those guys.

I put a new clutch and the whole 10 yards last week
I'm putting in new intake gaskets this weekend for my oil leak.
