Hi guys, anyone have an oil monitor that's acting crazy?

I changed my oil on my 2008 4.6 in August, and have only driven about 175 miles since and monitor is saying 79% oil life remaining. That's bizarre, that would men 0% in around 900 miles total.

I've been changing the oil myself since I purchased it in 2011 with 33k miles, it now has 147k. This has never happened before.

Any input?

Thanks!

I believe the monitor also takes time into consideration. I change my oil in my 2010Mountaineer before I garage it for the winter. When spring comes it will say oil change due. That is with just time no miles.

yeah but one month? it doesn't just look at one parameter.

If it looks at a 6 month change interval as well as mileage then you will lose about 16% of your oil life each month. It's been about a month since you changed it so 100% minus 16% = 84%.

Doesn´t seem too out of the ordinary. Like it´s been pointed out, regardless of mileage, the monitor will drop about 17% each month. You changed it on August, exactly what day?
