Oil on PCV Valve??

I'm hoping this is normal, but thinking it is not a good thing. Changed the pcv valve on my explorer today and found motor oil on both sides of the valve. I then took the hose off (running from the pcv valve) where it goes into the driver side valve cover on the side and there was oil in it too. Not so much that it was dripping but enough that when I ran my finger in there it was covered. Is that normal???

Welcome to this forum! Valve covers have oil, so it makes sense for the PCV to get some oil on it.
