2014 Explorer Limited
I have a brand new 2014 Ford Explorer limited that I bought a few months ago. Last Wednesday, May 7th, I was driving and it jerked...I looked around thinking it popped out of gear or something...as I was slowing to the stop light, It DIED! Low oil pressure light came on and it wouldn't start :(.....ok, I thought...WTH...sat there for a few and it finally started on the 3rd attempt. (keep in mind it has 4011 miles one it!) I ran the health report and everything was "OK". Started home and it DID IT again. By then I was P!ssed! So I called the dealership where I bought it from, the service man told me to have it towed in. It sat there for 2 days hooked up to computers and nothing was wrong (they said) so I said, fine I'll come get it. As I was walking into the service dept. The service man came up to me and told me that they just got back from a test drive and it stalled, so now we cant release it you because its considered an unsafe vehicle. WOW! Did my blood pressure start to boil!! I have been calling everyday since then several times to find out what was going on with my car! Service man said they had to contact FORD directly because no one there has a clue. So I contacted them too through their customer service link on the website (still haven't heard a darn thing, imagine that!!)Finally on Monday, they told me that FORD wanted them to "check" the THROTTLE BODY!!! Just now as I'm sitting here, they called and told me that they were driving my car and they got it to "act up" 4 times....by listen to this....giving it A LOT of gas, letting off then pushing the gas about 1/4 of the way and it stalled...4 TIMES, or more I'm sure....So, ok...Rip roaring the hell out of it and racking up miles...great! So they are going to replace the THROTTLE BODY since FORD is "confident" that is what it is....OMG!!What else is going to blow now??? I know that I have read a few more people have had this same issue on here so have them check YOUR THROTTLE BODY, (which sometimes I wonder if that is what it is) and that should fix it. I will get back on and let you know the rest of my story (if interested) tomorrow when I go pick it up....8 days later :(

Time to get me involved, JenC; I want to do what I can to help. PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership; I'm on the case! :)

SO....the dealership replaced the Throttle body and it was not the problem! Amazes me how "Certified Mechanics" Through FORD have no clue what's wrong, nor does FORD obviously :( since they were "confident" that was the problem :( :thumbdwn:
This really sucks! I thought I could trust buying a brand new car from a well known AMERICAN company........and thought they would stand behind their own vehicles to meet customer satisfaction and needs. But nope, a very unhappy, dissatisfied and disappointed customer.:thumbdwn:
