Oil Sending Unit

Where is the oil sending unit located. I suspect I found it but I must say its in one of the hardest spots to get to. I also think that its seized on there really well and I might not be able to get it off with a socket wrench... Input would be appreciated

2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac 4.0L SOHC

I think that its in the same location on both SOHC and OHV, near the left hand (driver side) front of the engine block.

Any ideas on how to get this damn thing out? Its seized on there pretty tight and I do not have a way to lift the vehicle and get good leverage on it. I might end up having ford do it. Reminds me of when I had to replace the O2 sensor on my 96 explorer ...the thing did not move an inch.

From the other thread, it sounds like its easiest to get it from underneath.

I am accessing it from underneath but can not get leverage on the fitting to torque it lose. The suspension is also in large part in the way.
