Oil usage

My wife's 05 XLT V8 230K miles seems to be using a lot of oil lately. There is no oil leaks since I changed the gaskets on the oil pan and oil filter adapter a back in Nov.

There is no loss of power and no extra smoke coming out the exhaust pipe.

Now there is a engine code about the EGR Value but I am thinking that is not the problem. That EGR code has been there for a long time.

Any suggestion why her truck is using up a lot of oil.

My '03 did that and it turned out to be a dirty pcv valve. Put a new in and it fixed the problem.

That is interesting...$20 part...I might just to replace that this week.
