When I was messing around the my coil spacers the other day I had noticed that the clips that hold in my coil spring on the top side of the perch were pressed so far in that the spring was next to impossible to get off. I have seen on a couple of setups that there is a clip the bolt in on the out side of the perch and hold the spring in place. Where can I find one of these? And if i do put one on will it be safe to cut off the 2 rear clips on the pearch for ease of the spring comming out (it took almost 2.5hrs to get it out), b/c i still want to put the spacers in as soon as I find a new bolt, and then eventually bigger lift and 4wd... so the spring will be in and out throughout it's life. So anyway any informantion will be appreciated...

Thanks
Chris

Dont cut anything.

You should be able to just slip the springs out once all the hardware is off the bottom and nothing else is holding it in place. If you have to, try bending the retainers (heating them up first can help and keep them from snapping off).

The bolt-on clip is an accessory with superlift kits I believe- you can buy them or make one yourself out of scrap bent to shape and drill a hole in the metal and the spring mount. I was thinking about doing this myself but then realized letting the spring drop out - even a bit-gave maximum droop in front.

Just bend the retainer. Spin the spring out after you disassemble everything on the bottom.

Alright that works. Glad I didn't cut it. Will a propane torch do the trick for heating them up?

Thanks
Chris
