Just got my 95 Explorer back from the shop for eng. work. Radio worked fine when it went in but now the radio On/Off switch will not latch in the off position. No use trying to get the shop to admit they broke it so I need to find the switch.

Can anyone tell me where I might find a replacment switch for the stock AM/FM radio with cass. player in this 1995 Ford XLT Explorer?

Thanks,

Stephen

I haven't ever seen a 95's HU but I can imagine that it would be more trouble to replace the switch than to go to the junkyard and take out a whole new HU.

changing the volume know is not that difficult if you can find one. I got one at an electronics repair shop in West Mifflin Pa - I cant remember the name of the place - but it was about 20 bucks. Then you just need to take out the head unit and take it apart with some torx bits. If I remember correctly, the volume know just attaches to the face circuit board by a ribbon cable. Good Luck.

Look at it this way.... maybe its a blessing, a reason to get rid of the factory POS and get a new aftermarket HU....

Good luck.
