just to make sure, have you checked for spark, could not be getting it on enough or all cylinders, sounds stupid but i didnt see it mentioned anywhere.
So, it stays running as long as you keep the rpm up? Have you tried to start it while giving it a "little gas"? (Holding the throttle open a little) If it starts like that, change your IAC. I suppose the min idle speed screw could have backed off, but don't mess with that, except as a last resort.
and if you havent already fix your EGR just to make sure thats not causing a possible string of problems, and if your concerned you ripped a wire or something your EGR is where itd be, ive done that a few times, idk why there i dont seem to rip wires anywhere else just at the EGR.
does it still start when towed, i dont see how towing it would make any difference with the injectors firing. the only reason a tow should help start a manual car is if the starter is bad and cant spin the flywheel, towing it will spin the fly wheel and then when you turn the key and give it gas and spark the truck starts. theres a very similar thread around here somewhere about injectors not firing if i can find it ill post it. have you considered that your flywheel could be cracked or broken, starter would still crank but not engage the flywheel. i know this doesnt really fit your original symptoms but just throwing it out there, you could have damaged it towing it home.

???
x2cant id cylinder #1
211 is the no start, cant cid cylinder #1 to start the vehicle, which is why at a certain rpm it runs.

What were the results of your crankshaft position sensor tests? Is there gunk all over the crankshaft pulley?
I suspect an intermittent ground to the crankshaft position sensor through a tear in the harness insulation. Can be tested by wiggling the harness while it's running with something to keep your hands out of reach of moving parts.
I'm not immediately familiar with the camshaft position sensor equivalent to your year. But the same principle could cause this perhaps.
so your still having the same issue, crank and no start, have you checked for spark yet, i know i already asked but i dont think i got a solid answer. also have you checked the condition of your injectors they could be fried to the point that they wont fire. im stumped, if your getting fuel at the fuel rail and spark that does pretty much leave the injectors, could be some weird totally un thought of issue. if you havent already try covering the EGR while cranking, or just replace it since it needs to be anyway, i still think the bad EGR could be throwing something else out of whack preventing a start. when was the last time you had it pop started? may want to do it again just to make sure it still does start.
the starter fluid just falls to every cylinder, so it bypasses the injectors, so with that said, since the car cannot id cylinder #1 to to start, it does not know what piston is where, and cant match fuel injectors to spark. starting fluid just skips that since each cylinder will have it in it.
almost a month now
did it start yet ?
