I have a 2000 Xlt V8 Explorer and the open door light will not go off. I think it is a problem with the rear lift gate. Any suggestions on how to fix. Thanks
Turn the key on and open the doors one at a time. It should chime when a door is opened. When you get to the door/hatch/window that doesn't ding, that is your problem.

The fix is to use wd40 or some other lube and work it into the lock. You can do this buy spraying it and opening/closing the door a dozen times. Seems like a common problem on the forums.
