I removed orange spots on my g/f's 05 Accord LXSE coupe using this. Took a lot of elbow grease.

I have a 2012 explorer in the pearl white, noticed this year that after I washed it the whole rear of the car is covered in small orange spots. Didn’t notice it last year but I know the city did start using a different ice clearance chemical this year so thinking that may have triggered something.

Wondering what’s the best way to clean it off without damaging the paint work, I did see a local retailer recommend IronX but wanted some input for here

I spent hours with a clay bar getting all of the orange spots off of mine last year. Hopefully, when I get out there to detail it next week, I won't have so many to deal with.

That is "Rail Dust." I had the EXACT same thing on my White Platinum F150. I called the dealer and it is covered under warranty. I took it in and they took care of it. I got rid of the truck since then so I am not sure if they came back or not. They did an "acid wash," or so they called it, and then did a wax and clay bar.

I would call the dealer and make them take care of it, at least once.

Years ago I worked at a steel shot foundry and our vehicles were constantly dusted with steel particles. A quick wash with Oxalic Acid would clean it up. I used it weekly for years with no ill effects.
