Have you checked the fluid level and condition?

overdrive light

if you mean transmission fluid..it was checked before the trip all was ok and still ok

what are the reasons this light would be flashing

left owners manual at home

A sensor in the tranny has sent a code to the computer saying there is a fault. Could be nothing, could be something. Is it shifting normally?? You can try taking it to Autozone and see if they can run the codes. Or you can try disconnecting the battery for ~ 15 minutes. This will clear the codes. If the problem was a one time occurance, then the light shouldn't flash. If it starts flashing after clearing it, then you have a recurring problem and need to get the code run.

IS SHIFTING PROPERLY AND WILL DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TONIGHT. THANK YOU
