Over head console

Howdy everyone,

My '02 xlt has no over head console of any sort and I miss being able to see the digital temperature and compass display up there.

The previous 2nd generation explorer over head consoles are abundant on ebay.

Does any one know if the 2nd generation explorer over head consoles would fit the 3rd generation explorer roof? If it does not fit do you think either the roof or the console are modifiable to make it fit?

An easier way if all you're after is the compass and temperature is to buy a compass/temperature rear view mirror. I've seen them advertised in the Ford accessories catalog, but I don't remember how much they were.

Other sources also sell these mirrors. Check some of the popular online truck accessory sites.

Yeah, that would work but those mirrors are several times the price of an over head console.

I would rather stay cheap and have to wire the temperature sensor to the celling myself with a console.

Any one else got more ideas?
