This is an overhead switch panel that I designed to control LED lighting on my upcoming roof rack and a set of under-body rock lights. I had the panel made by Front Panel Express. It was really easy to design my panel in their free CAD software and the turnaround time was only about a week, it was $35.00 after shipping. The switches are 22mm Vandal Resistant Illuminated Switch’s with blue LED rings from here. I am still trying to decide on black verses the brushed, what do you guys think? I am using the latching version of the switch and it will control a relay box that in turn controls the lights.
I used fiberglass to modify the original garage door opener holder and then painted it to match the other trim pieces I have painted. I still have to fill the hole on the trim piece where the release was and then I will paint it to match the black trim in my truck.
My next project is to get the relay box finished. I have the schematic complete but I’m trying to decide on a PCB vs. a rats nest of wiring. Its design was inspired by the sPOD and it will function in a similar manner. The tough part was including lighting controls for the switches back at the panel. I am just going to be using network wiring between the panel and relay box and then trailer wiring out to the lights.
Let me know what you guys think or if you have an suggestions. Thanks!
