How many of you guys who lift the rear with add-a-leafs took out the stock overload spring? If so, what is the ride like without and with an add-a-leaf?

Thanks
Dale

tiessen,
I have a Rough Country add-a-leaf in the rear and removed the stock overload spring. I really did not notice much of a difference with it removed. As for the Rough Country full length add-a-leaf, it is a piece of junk. I am quickly going to ditch it and go with a JD 2.5" lift. The Rough Country is extremely stiff. It won't hardly flex at all and is starting to get on my nerves.
To answer your question, go ahead and remove the stock overload if you are adding a leaf, it really can't hurt except for load capacity. It isn't too bad of a decrease at that with an extra leaf. I have towed a pretty hefty boat with mine before and had no problems with not having the stock overload.

Take care and happy exploring!
