Oxygen sensor??

I am getting an error code for failed egr valve on a 91 eddie.
The trouble is I don't have one do I replace the oxygen sensor to clear the error?

What code are you getting? You shouldn't be getting any EGR codes. I would guess you're either misreading the codes or you have an inaccurate code list.

I don't remember the number but It was from Checker.
The text explanation for the code said the egr valve was causing the fault
This is why the check engine light comes on after about 20 min. of driving.

Get the actual code number. I have a hard time picturing an EGR code from a '91 Explorer. If you're up to it, try pulling the codes yourself. You only need a paper clip. Instructions can be found at www.dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html under tests.
