So I found all the info I needed on the front differential. Now I have another concern. My 99 sport has 163,000 on it and has never had the first major problem other than the front wheel bearings and now the roar in the differential.Im beginning to wonder if I should go ahead and change the 6 solenoids in the transmission as some preventative maintenance. It still shifts like it rolled off the assembly line yesterday.I have kept the fluid changed every 30,000.But im just wondering if It may be time for some P.M.What do you guys think?

That is a true saying under most circumstances. However,ALL electrical parts eventually live their life. With all the miles on this part that sees so much action,I dont want it to decide to die while Im on the interstate somewhere.

Well, the deed is done.I got a killer deal on all 6 of the solenoids and changed them out.Put in some new fluid and everything is cool.I let the solenoids soak in some trans fluid before I installed them because I didnt want the internal parts to be dry starting for the first few seconds.I also went ahead and put the new solenoid support bracket in.i had already put the updated one on before, but I figured, what the heck.Anyway.I dont think I will have any issues as long as I keep the trans serviced.

Sorry it took so long to respond. We got swamped at work with diesel rebuilds. But I got all 6 solenoids on ebay for $175.00.I know that you are probably thinking that I got used or off brand, but All 6 of them were Bosch and they were brand new,not Remanufactured. So anyway,Hopefully,I will get another 163,000 out of the beast. Its nice having a vehicle that still runs like a dream after you pay it off.I feel like that commercial where the 2 guys have coins blowing out of the vents from his paid off car.lol
