CEL had been coming on about every 6 days. Ran it up to Advanced to have it scanned. Guy couldn't get scanner to work with my ST. Came home changed PCV elbow and valve, looked around for more leaks. Back on came CEL. This time I checked pin 16 on ODB port, no power. Learned it's the same as cigarette lighter. Changed fuse and back up to Advanced. Ran the scan came back as 0442 code. Guy looks at me and says gas cap. I didn't want to buy a cheap knock off, so I told him thanks, ran to the local Ford Dealer and bought a Motorcraft cap. 3 weeks now and no light. So if you see the 0442 code check the gas cap, I was convinced it was P0171 code.
