P1151 code check engine light

Hi, I have a 1998 explorer sport. The check engine light came on. I have been getting very poor gas milage around 9 mpg. The idle sometimes is low and jumpy. I don't want to spend money on parts that wont fix the problem but dont know what to do.

I replaced the intake manifold gaskets about 2 years ago along with changing the o2 sensors.

Please what should I do?

I think that the first thing I will do is try and clean the MAF? Also I looked around and didn't find any leaky houses.

that code is for a heated o2 sensor trying to over correct for a rich condition thus explaining your poor gas mileage

possible causes:

1. corroded/damaged electrical connectors on the sensor
2. bad fuel pressure regulator or injectors
3. air leaks after the MAF sensor (probably your intake gasket that you replaced is leaking again would be my guess
4. EGR Valve stuck
