Did a search on BL's awhile back and read a lot of info to know that I would need a PA853 for my 2001 XLT. And then I would have to get the bumper brackets made. But reading another post yesterday said that the PA883 would work fully on on a 2000 XLT with no mods. Would this also be true for a 2001?

And what about the PA70023 for the 01-02 SportTRAC? I know the TRAC has a different suspension setup but how different would the body mounts be? That brings me to the PA70033 for the 01-02 Ranger as well. How well does that bolt up to a 2001 XLT?

Thought I had this all figured out a long time ago but now I'm a little confused.

For this application ^^^ you will need the kit 883, 853 is for 95 - 97or98. Not sure about the sport trac.

Ok. And is the PA883 a straight bolt up? Or will I need too get some brackets made for the bumper?

I have to make brackets. I was told I didn't have to - but the brackets I have don't look like they will bolt right up. So I'm guessing you'll have to get some brackets made. I will hopefully be making mine soon...I have the diagram from this website - I will scan it and repost it for you if you want it. But I don't know when I'll be done with the diagram.

Ok. I figured it sounded too good to be true that everthing fit right. ;) I'll do a quick search for the diagram first. Love the looks of your truck Drew! You put the suspension lift and everything on yourslef?

I'm not sure with the 883 kit but I think I may have read somewhere that they might work, now as for the templates on this site, the rear worked but the front wasn't close on my 95 and the holes for the bolts had to be wider than what they say

Yup! The body lift was extremely easy. People on the board have reported taking about 6-8 hours to install it. I believe it took me 3 hours. We even took out the front seats. We started at 6PM and ended at about 9PM. We did everything, body blocks, radiator repositiong, front bumper, put everything back. It was pretty easy. Bought some Pizza and had 2 other mechanics help me. Maybe thats why it went quicker, but we didn't go extremely fast - we went at our own pace. The suspension lift on the other hand, wow - 18 hours was the total logged for that project. It's a good kit though. Just a lot of hours. Good luck. Let me know if I can help you out with anything.

You need the 883

Front bumper brackets should work fine, may need to redrill holes on the rear

You trying to fit 33's?

I"m thinking about actually pulling my 2" BL this winter break before I go to Charleston. Not sure if I plan on keeping it

(I'm not sure if I want to keep my 265's or not... I was thinking about putting my 30's back on for when I go back to Charleston b/c I never do any wheelin' down there)

I'll be in Charlottesville after finals until I move to Charleston in January

Hokie - I don't think the rear bumper brackets work? Or am I wrong? We tried fitting it in the existing holes, but it didn't work exactly right.

so Hokie - I have the 883 kit and a 00 4door....will the rear bumper bracket work for mine? Cause If I just have to redrill the holes - thats a whole lot better

-Drew

The Sport Trac kit has special brackets for the bumpers. The front fascia is different on a Sport Trac and Sport in that the grill and bumper cover are all one piece. If you bumper is seperate (and obviosly metal) don't get the trac kit.

Your kit should be the same as a Ranger (I think).

Assuming you have the same brackets as the 792 kit, then yes should work

My rear brackets were just flate 1/4" thick plate steel with holes drilled in them. I reamed out the 2 holes and then drilled 2 new ones. I lifted my rear bumper more like 2.75-3" when i did my 3" BL to further help my departure angle (lol, but recently killed that by putting my hitch back on which is now 3" lower than my rear bumper... )

Well - Mine is flat, but it has a slight bend in it near the top. Did you say you were getting rid of the brackets? Or am I just being stupid? Cause I don't know if I'm going to make them this weekend - but if I don't, I'd like to get yours if they'd work on a '00 4dr with a 3" BL. I live in mechanicsville.

I'm only getting rid of the brackets if i remove the bl and then i would sell everything as a complete kit

Just drill some holes into yours, it took me maybe 1 hour to do all the fabrication for em, not very hard

dmasini if you are interested, i have 883 for sale right this very second in the sale section. Check it out.

I would TaknitezX2 but I promised the "soon to be" wife I would wait on the body lift until after the wedding next fall. I'm basically asking all the questions now so I can price everything out with some 33's and start putting away the money now.

Hey Hokie, thanks for the offer but yeah I'm going to be putting 33's on. Going to buy the Rock Crawler steel rims, do you know what back spacing I should be looking for?

taknitezX2, I've got a Pocket PC I'm trying to get rid of I'd be willing to rade plus cash. I could get away with doing that from the fiancee I think... ;)
