on the hood of my '00 the paint is cracking in about 3 spots. it looks like a spiderweb and when you wash it water wont bread up like it will on the rest of the body. also in the channels along the roof the paint is randomly cracking. is there any product that i can use to help at least slow down the spread of this or fix it? and jw, what about a single white racing stripe from the start of the hood all the way to the back bumper? (how much would that cost?) my color is red. (sry i dont have a digi camera to take pics i know it would help alot)

if you are the original owner, go to the ford dealership and ask them about it. my neighbor has mentioned that ford has paint that peels easily and they'll fix it for free. not positive if this is true or not, but they might be able to help you out.

as for 'slowing' it down... i would imagine maybe polishing or waxing it could help slow it down. For the racing stripes, you have a couple options in this area, if you're looking for a simple racing stripe, you probably could do it yourself, especially if it's white. White is one of the easier colors to spray, imperfections don't show up as easily. Another option is a vinyl sticker on there, might not sound to awesome but it's cheap, quick, and you can wax over it and give it the same shine as your paint.

Good luck with it.

thanks for the response- i'll call the dealership asap
