Hey guys. Anyone have any idea on what this paint is on the interior trim pieces on 2000 ex. It appears to be almost a plastic feel to it. And my other problem is my daughter poked her finger in my cruise control button and now it has a hole in it. I need to replace it if it's possible.

The trim pieces have a coating on them that is very similar to plasti-dip. My Ranger had the problem of it peeling off so I used brake fluid to remove all the coating and reapplied a coat of plast-dip. They looked new afterwards. as far as the cruise buttons go, just pull some new switches from a jy. will be a cheap replacement, or you can order the switches new from the dealer.

or look on Amazon for replacements...

Cruise buttons

As far as the cruise buttons, they're made out of some type of semi-transparent plastic with a silicone type of feel. My guess is that with age, they harden. Mine had gotten to the point my son was using his fingernail to press the on/off buttons. Eventually they just broke through or decomposed. I found replacements on Amazon, and it's good as new now. Replaced them both while I had the airbag off.
