So I got everything ready to paint my truck.. I shook, stirred, strained and started to spray. As I was spraying I started thinking for a minute and I had to remind myself that I'm painting a car not applying bedliner..

I don't know what happened. Like I said in a previous post, I've never painted a car before. The paint that was coming out of the gun looked like it was mixed with gluey strings or something that are visible on the paint.. and the finished product is bumpy just like a thin coat of bedliner. My equipment is a 21 gallon compressor with a 5 hp motor (this is the same compressor that a paint shop down the street uses, that's why I bought this particular one), a SiphonFed paint gun (same one as the paint shop), the only different things that I used is DupliColor paint that comes in quarts from Autozone, that says ready to spray laquer paint, a 50 foot Goodyear hose, pressure regulator on the gun and on the tank, and a water/oil remover. This is everything I was told I need.

I'm trying to figure out why the paint is coming out of the gun like this.. it said that it's spray ready. The only thing I can possibly think of is that the paint wasn't thinned out enough.. but it was very thin, like water when I was straining it.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Try thinning the paint more. I've had this problem a few times when I first started painting.
