ok so i've deciced to paint my grey plastic trim black i have worked on cars fro probebly bout 3 yrs now and all the grease from my work shoes have left marks all over my driver side plastic rocker panel and i've try to clean it over and over again time to paint black what steps should i take to prepair the plastic for paint? sand?

You will need to sand them & apply a coat of primer as well. Use a good brand of primer.

Dupli Color van & truck primer works well. It's a lacquer base so it will etch into the palstic and not peel.

In my experience... a good thorough cleaning of plastic, and a light dusting of liquid sandpaper followed by a high quality plastic paint (any auto paint store can match up a color in it perfectly) is the fastest and longest lasting way to go about it. Stay away from the stuff sold to the general public in the mainline stores... it just isn't as good. My 2 cents.
