Ok so I've done a search and all, but I kinda need a how to on this. I only have the jack from the explorer. Is that sufficient for holding up the truck so I can paint two wheels at a time? Also, how long do they have to dry, and how long will they hold up? I want to paint them black btw.

Thanks for the help.

My bad this is the wrong place for the thread!!!

I took one off at a time... sanded inside the tear drop, painted it with black enamel... gave each one 30 mins to dry before re-fitting them... pics in my "Betty" registry...

Agreed on the stands- if you're just now getting this Ex, get a good floor jack and some stands- you'll need them anyway... :)

craigslist

check your local craigslist, i found a set of floor jack that raises up to 21" and a pair of stands for $40.00, craftsman brand!

Thanks,

Yeah I took the grill off and just sanded the "chrome" tape and used an adhesion promoter before painting it.

If you look closely, I also removed the side body molding, it makes it more cleaner and the monotone of the black is not interrupted.

Just a few weeks ago, I removed the "skirt" and just filled the holes with expand a foam but still needs to be sanded and painted "truckbed coating" black, similar to a "Rhino" coating but not as thick of a texture...

Good luck on your adventure on all the mods, I got all the ideas here on this forum.
