The trim around my radio is scratched up from my head unit falling out over and over due to crappy aftermarket install kits. The trim i'm talking about also has other knobs on it, and i believe it goes around 2 of the air vents. Its covered in what seems to be a really smooth rubber coating. Anyways, do you guys think it would be hard to take this off and paint it... and actually make it look good. Maybe add a more custom touch (not like rice white) but something subtle. Any tips or ideas?

Robert, and a few others, have painted a lot of the interior plastics (including the radio bezel). What I did that looks pretty trick IMO was get the bezel from an O1+ Sport. They are silver and look pretty cool (as long as you have grey interior). otherwise, search for Robert's thread cause he has some tips for painting those slick surfaces.

i have actually seen plastic interior trim paints available at autoparts stores and online like jcwhitney

I found Roberts thread, that will help out a lot if I decide to paint it.
Section - Can you snap a pic of the silver in your explorer for me???

Yeah.. I have one here somewhere. Let me find it.

thanks for the pic.

Do you think they have them with a button for fog lights (below the rear defroster button)?

Oh yeah. They have them with all the options now. Since I took my airdam off (along with fog lights) I figured I wouldn't need the switch for them.. so this bezel was perfect for me (for $6). :D

Here is Black Magic's:

did he paint his, or is it factory? I can't find any silver ones on ebay, and I got lost looking on fordpartsnetwork for it.

Yeah. They're factory on O1+ Sports. So any bezel you get from one of those will be silver. You should get the center console and speedo gauge to match also. It all looks trick in silver and white.

you can paint it, or spend a little more $$ and get a wood dash kit.

ewwwwww wood ... blah

heh

where'd those white AC controls come from on Black Magics??
