How do I go about removing the rear passenger side panel in my '99 Mounty? It's a panel that looks like it has a speaker grille on it. It appears I have to pry it off, but I'm not sure and don't want to break it. Thanks in advance, Mr. Logger

remove the whole (larger) panel from the rear seat to the hatch

Here is one of the nine tabs on the back of the grill...

Here is the plastic wedge that goes through the tab, and holds the grill in the larger panel...

Here you can see the nine slots that the tabs go through...

I think he is referring to the entire panel. Not just the speaker grill.

Toypaseo, that last picture is what I was wanting to do. I was just curious as to how I get the panel off without breaking it.

There are numerous posts on here on how to remove the whole side panel. I removed mine with info from many of them.

This might be helpful also...

When I told my Ford mechanic neighbor about me attempting removal, he loaned me a Snap-On soft grip panel removal tool. It slides under the head of the plastic panel "Christmas tree bolts", and makes removal of them easy, with less to no damage to them. This saved me time and headaches.

You want to remove just the speaker grill...?

Yeah. It was something I was just curious about. I thought I had just four speakers, then I saw that and didn't know what is was. Anything else bout the stock sound system that I probably don't know?

to remove just the speaker grill back there, you need to remove the whole larger panel or you will break all those tabs that toypaseo put pics of.

a phillips screw under the carpet around the wheel well. all the "christmas trees" you can see. and the seat belt bolt up high. also loosen (by lifting) the passenger rear door sill. doesn't need to be removed just lift it up and to the side
