For awhile, when I set the parking brake, the dummy light never came on. As of the past month or so, it still wont come on when the parking brake is set, but when I apply my foot to the brakes it sometimes will light and sometimes even stay lit after my foot is off the brake. i have a 93 XLT 4dr 2wd. Anyone know of a good cheap way to fix this. It is not a big deal but an annoyance I would like to take care of.

The indicator light on my 99 has never worked.

The light on my '92 has never worked either.
Your problem may not be with the parking brake. You might want to check the level of the brake fluid in the master cylinder. The brake light can com on if the level of the fluid in the master cylinder is to low. If this is the case (low fluid) you need to have the brake system inspected for leaks or worn friction material (pads and shoes).
