Thread lacks any details of the issue, but thanks for sharing. If you just want to vent, may I suggest calling the salesman who sold you the car.

A large complex machine with hundreds of precisely engineered parts controlled by multiple embedded computer systems with an array of sensors and safety fallback systems and powered by thousands of explosions per minute using remains of extinct creatures from millions of years ago had a malfunction. Yep it's because it's cheap and definitely not because complex machines built in batches of a few thousand at a time sometimes have a glitch or an out of spec part. You want to pay Ford prices but expect NASA levels of precision and reliability.

#3 I do release the brake before pressing the gas, it appears one or more pads are sticking to the rotor

#2 The salesman has moved on.

According to my USPS app I'm receiving in the mail today a safety recall notice. Vin search shows nothing...A month ago I contacted the NHTSA and gave them a list of concerns regarding the bolt fracture coverup.

I get a daily list of recalls and supplements to recalls and haven't seen anything recently on 20' and up Explorers, will be interesting to see what your letter shows. Not a fan of the auto emergency brakes myself and have never even seem an explorer came through the shop with one of the fractured bolts. goalieThreeOne is correctly vehicles have become overly complex IMHO 40+ modules with 5+ communication systems trying to "talk" to each other at the same time, glitches happen, new parts don't always mean good parts, I just replace an accessories program interface module on a brand new Ford Edge due to a blank "TV" screen in the center stack, there's a reason I drive a 1992 explorer :)
