Has anyone replaced their front right cv to differential oil seal. The manual says that the right side requires a special puller/installer. Is this something that can be rented from the auto stores.

Yep - did this replacement

No special puller required once the hub is off. Pry the axle out - the inner stub axle will probably come out with the cv axle. You may think you're not able to get the axle out because of not enough room - again, there is an inner axle that is supposed to stay inside the front differential case extension.

Now, getting the old seal out and the new one in is a real pain. Getting the new one in was tough and I did not use a special tool. The challenge was tapping at 90 degree locations a little bit at a time until it is in. This will be difficult and just don't give up.

I used a puller/installer. I had a friend helping me who had one...but you should be able to rent it at the auto parts stores. It has a slide hammer with a 3 jaw tool that you can attach to it for the pulling part, and there's a seal driver for installing the new one.

As for getting the axleshaft to pop out of the diff, use a 1" x 1" stick of wood and a small sledge hammer...just put the wood against the wide part of the axleshaft and give it a couple hits with the sledge. Obviously you want to be hitting it out away from the diff, so just position the stick accordingly. To put it back in, just give it a few good shoves and it will click into place.
