Passenger Heated Seat Strange Issue

I'm having a weird issue with the passenger side heated seat.

If I start the vehicle with the remote the heat turns on and stays on until I get in and am ready to drive. If I try to turn on the seat using the touchscreen button it never warms up. I've tested this with a passenger in the vehicle and an empty seat. The A/C works fine however after I had the A/C unit in it replaced this past summer. I just think it's a little strange that the heating unit obviously works, but can't be turned on from the screen.

Anyone have any ideas what might be going on?

Just in case anyone comes looking with a similar issue...

Finally had a chance to have the dealer look at it and it was a faulty TED, which is slightly annoying because I just had this one replaced less than 6 months ago. The good news is it is being replaced at no cost to me. Unfortunately my wife is less than thrilled that I waited until after our -45ºC temps to get it fixed.
