Just bought an 01 Sport two weeks ago. Nice truck but it's a pain to get in and out of the rear seat.

The owners manual says the passenger seat is supposed to slide forward when you release the seat back and push. it doesn't. My daughter's 03 Escape is the same way.

Is there a trick to it or a problem with both vehicles??

Thanks

Is the seat all the way forward already? It doesn't push forward farther than it's frontmost forward position.

Sometimes it sticks a bit. Don't be afraid to push or pull forward a lot.

Does it slide up and back normally when in the normal position?

One more thing: if it has electric forward/back mov't it won't slide forward automatically.

Moves both directions when released using the front release. Just won't automatically move forward if you try to do it by moving the seat back forward and pushing.

You wind up having to flip the seat back forward then using the front release bar to slide the seat forward.

I'll give a little "less gentle" push. :) :)

Thanks

There is a big spring under there. It likely will just be hanging. A screwdriver or small pry bar and a pair of gloves and you should be golden.
