I Just put P235/75R15 standard load passenger all season M+S tires on a two wheel drive 97 sport. Put them on for quiter ride since there is no off-road activity anyone see a problem with this? Has anyone else put passenger treads on their 2wd explorer? Thanks

The only thing you should make sure of is that the tires can support the weight of your ex. Some passenger car tires are not rated to support a 2.5 ton vehicle, but some are. If they are rated enough to support the weight of your ex, then you should have no problems.

Re:Tires

Thanks for the info. I called the manufacturer (Cordovan) they said at 35psi they were rated at 2205. I think this is equivelent to 105 rating. She was actually talking to one of their buyers and he said no prob the only difference was the tread pattern. Boy are they much quieter.

Yes, if they are rated for the weight there shouldnt be a problem. I've done the same thing on a couple street-only pickups over the years, and you are right...the ride quality and noise reduction is almost unbelievable. I put Michelins on a '69 dodge p/u I had 25-30 years ago. The stock tires were practically like solid rubber wagon tires! I drove on them for 3-4 years, and decided to try the pass. radials. Like driving a Cadillac in comparison!!!
