Whats your take on the Paxton Superchargers? And will a 91-94 model bolt onto a 96 4.0?

I've heard good things about them. The kit won't exactly bolt up though, you'll have to reroute or move some things due to the variances in the intakes. However, the mods shouldn't be hard to do. You tryin' to show me up, eh? ;)

Just wondering, some guy on mysporttrac was sellin one for 1000, and he said it had 500 mi on it. i was lookin at it.

do you have more than 100K mi. on your engine. it isnt recommended to install a supercharger on a high mileage engine.

80
BTW. Alec, how much work do y ou think it would take to install this s/c? its in the for sale section at mysporttrac.com, check it out!

Well that kit isn't sold new anymore, so I couldn't find any good info on it quick. I think Vortech bought Paxton, so you might want to call them for info, maybe they can find some old instructions to send you before you buy it.

I'd think the install would be fairly straightforward. Like I said before though, you'd need to modify the piping to work with the newer engine layout. I think the install is actually simpler than my BBK kit, in which case fair game for a better-than-average wrenchhead, or a competent wrencher with time and patience. And it will cost you more than the cost of the unit due to the plumbing parts you'll need.

BTW, with 80k I'd think twice about installing it without at least a very good tuneup and checkup.

Yeah, so about how much for install

Very rough estimate: 2.5 days not including parts running for a good, professional mechanic. Mine in total took about 4.5. My mech. charged about $600 for the work that he did, which wasn't the whole thing 'cause I helped. The extra parts will probably run about $300 for good tubing and misc parts.
